The idea of exchanging parties of cricket-playing Rotarians between the United Kingdom and India was first discussed at the Rotary International Assembly at Nashville in 1986 — the spark that led to IFCR.
GB & I hosted the very first World Festival at Fordingbridge in 1997 and the Nottingham Festival, and its touring parties are famous for their nicknames and camaraderie.
